Cherríe Moraga honored by the Lambda Literary Foundation

We’re proud to announce our very own 2013 keynote speaker and prominent feminist writer, Cherríe Moraga, will be honored with Lambda Literary Foundation’s “Pioneer Award” at the 25th Annual Lambda Literary Awards on June 3 in New York City. Past recipients of the Pioneer Award include such eye-opening LGBT superstars as Kate Millett (2012), Kate Clinton (2010) and Leslie Feinberg (2009).

Moraga is a teacher, playwright, poet, essayist, and the co-editor of This Bridge Called My Back: Writings by Radical Women of Color. Many times, she has been called the first “out” Chicana lesbian published or produced in theater, and is well known within QTPOC activist circles. In all of her works, there is an utter commitment to voicing the feminist, queer, indigenous, and radical politics that counter the ongoing practices of colonialism.

Congratulations, Cherríe! We’ll see you in Oakland this August!
