Visually Speaking – An Artists’ Showcase
Come join us for a showcase of drawings, paintings, photography and multi-media art works by Butches, for Butches, and about Butches. We are pleased to be showing work by both established and emerging artists. Visually Speaking will also feature Jeanne Cόrdova’s recent massively popular exhibit Genderplay in Lesbian Culture out of L.A. Genderplay is a collection of photos and text described as “an exhibition and a journey, a collection of snapshots in time and stories of ancestors.” Conference attendees will have a unique opportunity to hear the eleven artists discuss their work at the Artists’ Reception, to be held on Thursday night, August 20th, at the Meet & Greet starting at 6pm. During the rest of the Butch Voices Conference, the exhibit will be displayed throughout the workshop meeting areas. These works will not be shown as a collection again, so don’t miss this one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore gender and sexuality, Visually Speaking.
