Event description

Ten Years of BUTCH Voices!

BUTCH Voices held our first national conference in 2009 in Oakland, and here we are returning for our 10 year anniversary!

BUTCH Voices will once again convene in Oakland for our 2019 National Conference, from Thursday, August 15th to Sunday, August 18th.

We are excited to work once again with the amazing folks at Oakstop for our conference home for workshop and keynote spaces. Oakstop is located at 1721 Broadway, in the heart of Oakland, and also near the 19th St. BART station. Accessibility info

Announcing our featured Keynote Speakers will be Kelli Dunham, genderqueer ex-nun storytelling nurse comic, and Nalo Zidan, Queer Black word artist and Founder and Creative Director of BlackGirlMasculine.

At BUTCH Voices 2019, there will be:

  • Workshops
  • Performances
  • Networking
  • Community
  • Resources
  • Keynote Speakers
  • And more!

When we bring our collective voices into action and support one another, we are so powerful together. Being in intentional spaces filled with hundreds of like-minded and beautiful MOC community members and allies is something that connecs us to each other, and to something much bigger than ourselves.
